1) Christian Howes and the Dangerous Band performing music from “Out of the Blue” (Resonance Records)
Trio, quartet, or quintet
Instrumentation: Violin, drums, keyboards, with optional bass and guitar.
Description: What is the meaning of the blues? “Blues” and “soul” show up in many cultural-musical manifestations. In “Out of the Blue”, the violin is the centerpiece of a versatile chamber ensemble which reinvents and spins together classical, pop, and jazz to both reflect and shed light on a post modern world.
2) Christian Howes, solo (unaccompanied) “The World of Violin”
This 45-75-minute show can be adapted to assemblies for k-12. Christian uses a loop pedal, accompanying himself to demonstrate a “world of violin”. The family audiences adaptation, showing Christian’s own musical development, from age 5 to 39, as he progressed from “Twinkle”, to Bach, to Paganini, bluegrass, jazz, and more, is particularly inspiring to kids and young music students.
3) Christian Howes solo, ( with orchestra, string orchestra, and/or big band)- Repertoire is available for all combinations. Please email chris@christianhowes.com
4) Christian and Camille Howes - Father-daughter duo presenting classical, jazz, and folk music for family audiences.
Fiddle Evolution- The co-led project with wunderkind fiddler, Billy Contreras, features twin fiddles with bass (think Turtle Island String Quartet for the 21st century!)
Howes, Lechner, Martin, “Klazyc” Trio- Featuring classical themes with modern improvisation. Federico Lechner and Pablo Martin are based in Madrid and the trio performs frequently in Europe.
Various collaborations, special projects: Christian is flexible and adaptable. Have something in mind involving a collaboration or special theme?
