The Creative Strings Workshop offers youth and adult string players a unique opportunity to study improvisational music through rehearsals, masterclasses, and concerts alongside world class artists in jazz, fiddle styles, blues, rock, and more. June 19 to 23, 2012 marks the 10th annual camp in Columbus, Ohio.
Participants work closely with master artists, gain crucial performance experience, and connect with creative string players from around the world. The “adult program” caters to students, teachers, and professionals all levels, ages 14-114. The “youth program” (four hours per day) is customized for students aged 10-16 based in the Columbus area. Out of town school groups are welcome.
Teaching artists in 2012 include Jeremy Kittel, Marcelo Vieira, Billy Contreas , Jason Anick, Hamilton Hardin, Cedric Easton, and more tba.

An innovative and unique aspect of our camp is the scheduling of 25 public concerts during the week. ALL participants perform in several concerts throughout the city (cafes, theatres, festivals, clubs,churches, homes, etc..) in small ensembles working alongside master teachers.
